- I am sure your teacher did not write the problem that way. If you mean

(6 - x)/2 = 4, the answer is x = -2.

If you mean 6 - (x/2) = 4, the answer is x = 4.70 - 6 - x divided by 2 = 4?

Hence (6 - x)/2 = 4?

6 - x = 8

Subtract 8 from both sides and get

6 - x - 8=8-8

-x-2=0

-x=2

and x= -2

Edit00 - 6 - x = 8

-x = -6 + 8

x = -200 - 6 - x/2 = 4

x = 410 - Answer is 6 x = 400
- (6 - x)/2 = 4

x = -2

6 - (x/2) = 4

x = 400 - (6-x)/2=4

6-x=4*2

6-x=8

x=6-8

x=-2

Answer: -200 - x = 203
- Is X divided by 2 or is (6-X) divided by 2. Makes a difference.
