there are public records that you might review that would indicate the house is in foreclosure... these public records would not be able to tell the action the mortgage lender is ir has taken...

if the property is in foreclosure and you wish to know more about the foreclosure procedures of your state... knowing the foreclosure procedures of your state would be more beneficial to you...

normally once the foreclosed property has been sold at the foreclosure auction or is claimed by the mortgage lender, you would be contacted by the mortgage lender or the person that purchased the property...

in numerous cases you would be contacted by the new owner as to a date you would be able to move...

in some instances if the mortgage lender claim the property your might be offered money for keys so you are able to move, once you have decided on a date you are able to move...

a representative of the mortgage lender would contact you... you would need to express to this person if you are in need of funds to move... you would also indicate to this individual the date you would be able to move...

you shall not be called one day and told you are required to move tomorrow...

i hope this has been of some benefit to you, good luck...

1. Buying the Home
If you are a renter living in a home facing foreclosure, you usually get some sort of advance notice. Either you are contacted by the mortgage lender or through the posting of legal notices on the property itself. This gives you the opportunity to participate in the foreclosure sale auction if you want to buy the home yourself.

2. Paying Rent
Even though the federal law prevents you from being forced out of your home, you still need to pay the rent per the terms of your lease. However, because of the lengthy and complicated nature of the foreclosure process, it isn't always clear who the legal landlord actually is.

3. Federal Protection
The federal Protecting Tenants at Foreclosure Act of 2009 provides renters protection from being automatically forced from their homes due to a foreclosure. This law basically gives any existing lease priority over the foreclosure action.
