What part of that don't you understand? If you divide your efforts on two things that both require your full effort, you won't accomplish either one.
I don't think he said that. But the qoute does sound like something Jesus would say.
It means that if you hope to achieve a goal you must choose one goal and stick to it; don’t allow yourself to become diverted and choose more than one.
If you chase only one rabbit you may catch one. But if you chase two rabbits you will never catch either one of them.
You cant take two paths that lead to completely different goals.
I think he's talking about pursuing life goals or something.
That he knew little of rabbits or how to catch them. So if he chased them they would make a fool of him.
It means you will run in circles or opposite directions missing both rabbits. You can only chase one rabbit or focus on one problem and do this with excellence.
He is not completely right because obviously people are able to multi task and work on two or three problems but when chasing rabbits , he is on target.
"Catching" one is difficult enough, therefore it is useless to chase two. Given my understanding of Eastern concepts, I am willing to bet that this is a spiritual metaphor for the devotee, who is typically subject to being misled or taken advantage of. One major limitation to spiritual evolution is the attachment to the material world, which is where a lot of seekers get "tripped up". Many devotees are met with limited to no meaningful results after many years of dedication to spiritual pursuits, because they are trying to serve "two masters", which results in a halt in progress, at a certain point. The 'material world', itself, is the reason the devotee is trying to escape it. Lingering worldly attachments cannot take us out of it, and we only reap material suffering and misery without any spiritual reward.
"Person who chases two rabbits catches neither."
It means to focus on what is most important at the time.
If you don't do that you end up wasting time where nothing gets done.
While you try and understand that I'll explain to you all about this and you will get neither.
