I'm looking for software resembling a game console, but for windows and linking to my own games.does it exist?

I find having excessive amounts of game short cuts on my desktop unappealing, so i was wondering if their is an application that would look sort of like an xbox 360 but link to my own PC games. that way I would only have one icon on my desktop.

Bonus if it can open up my movies in VLC and music in Foobar.

I solved that issue by making an autoit script. It pops up a input window after I hit a hotkey. Then I type in game name shortened to run program.

example:
tf2 runs team fortress 2
mine runs minecraft
ect...

hi mark, too much eye candy is not good for you like candy for a child it rots their teeth well in your case it will detiorate your eyes. with aging the eyes retiorate but no need in speeding up the process. i just turned sixty not getting older i'm getting better but anyway i had a hard time reading the letters in my driving test without my glasses. now picture you with too much eye candy you would not be able to find the machine. this is called infra red and it will burn a part in the eye so you have trouble seeing. i was going out to the car one day this was eighy-five degrees outside so the neigbor lady lady asked me is it cloudy out? i didn't know what to say much less think so i replied no maam it is a very beautiful day out today. she replied oh i had better get my eyes checked again. too much eye candy will blind you. computers are not suppose to be like a disney cartoon. good luck i hope i was helpful to you

You could also try installing Rainmeter 2.1 and then install Omnimo, see if Windows 8-style tiles is more suitable for you.
