a. 100 mL of the 0.025 M HCL solution by dilution of the 1.0 M HCL solution

b. 100 mL of the 0.0125 M HCL solution by dilution of the 0.025 M HCL solution

c. 50 mL of the 0.00625 M HCL solution by an appropriate dilution of the 0.0125 M HCL solution

d. 100 mL of 0.025 M HNO3 prepared from 1.0 M HNO3 solution

e. 100 mL of 0.025 M KOH prepared from 1.0 M KOH solutions

• General calculation:
To dilute A (M) to B (M), take B mL of A (M) (stock) and make up to A mL with H2O.
Then multiply B mL and A mL by the appropriate number to bring to required volume.

a) To dilute 1.0 M to 0.025 M, take 0.025 mL of stock & make up to 1.0 mL with H2O.
Multiply both 0.025 mL and 1.0 mL by 100 to bring to 100 mL total volume.
= 2.5 mL of stock made up to 100 mL.

b) Here, A (stock) = 0.025 and B = 0.0125.
So take 0.0125 mL of stock and make up to 0.025 mL.
You need 100 mL and 100/0.025 = 4000, so multiplying factor is 4000.
= 0.0125 * 4000 mL of stock made up to 0.025 * 4000 mL
= 50 mL of stock made up to 100 mL.

c) A (stock) = 0.0125 and B = 0.00625
Take 0.00625 ml of stock and make up to 0.0125 mL.
You need 50 mL and 50/0.0125 = 4000.
= 0.00625 * 4000 mL of stock made up to 0.0125 * 4000 mL
= 25 mL of stock made up to 50 mL.

d) Same calculation as for a).

e) Same calculation as for a).
